I've been playing on a almost-vanilla server a lot for a few months, the map has a 30k diameter and is over a year old and is unlikely to reset anytime soon. Anybody interested in setting up there?

Oh an RPG server, I was playing on crimson ingot during the time we didn't have a server and I had alot of fun, untilsomeonefoundoneofmysecretbasesandkilledmeandkilledmeagainwhenIreturned fornoreasonwhatsoever. I hope we won't have any of that if we start with an RPG server

Well... if you do find some mods then sure why not, just be sure they are mods and not plugins... I prefer to play Mojang not Bukkit...

and what kind of challenges does the Tower of Power produce?
free for all?
1 v 1 duels in a tourney?
archery?
pig racing?
tap dancing?

Well that is essentially what we did with the current server except we did it on a grander scale.

We at the Kin have rarely had issues with that sort of thing.

The new server is mainly being new because of the new Nether, which is 1.5+.

There is an Xbox series of Minecraft where people do a challenge and the winner gets a "Tower of Power" which is just a tower of gold blocks but it symbolizes that they won and the winner of each challenge takes down the loser's tower and puts it up for his own.
We could do something similar.

Created an announcement on the steam page about Starbound and the release party.

That announcement post prompted me to mess with the Steam group permissions because I haven't used it since the new Steam community came out:

Officers can kick people now and there's the possibility for a moderator rank who can do chatroom, discussion and comments moderation.

I also found out that there is a log of everything that's happened to the group and it's actually really interesting xD

EDIT: Oh my god and the Steam mechanic for the discussions is actually amazing. You can make a proper forum with several boards and permissions for each board really quite easily ._.

Unfortunately it also means that every forum on the Community can be changed by Steam Community staff at any time and they enforce their own rules as well as anything that we would decide :/

EDIT: Reading the Chucklefish AMA on Reddit right now (AMA = Ask Me Anything), and they just answered some big questions of mine even without me asking!


Also, cool thing I read "We ended up giving each player their own ship instead (though you can still invite other players to your ship). This turned out way better than what we originally had planned."

I can't wait for this game, I can't stop reading about it, I can't stop talking about it, I can't stop discussing about it. I can't even stop thinking about it! Oh boooy!
